Design Thinking !

Creativity is limitless and different for each people. I think we just need to give them enough knowledge how to develop your ideas and principles of design. For me, I believe that delivering knowledge is better with series of workshops or group activities. Gathering all the geeks for information session with series of related activities might work well. As designers we tend to give experience to other people through our design. This time, the challenge is to design gathering session with all the geeks and then let them gain knowledge from the activities through their own understanding. In the end, even geeks can be creative to make their own designed interactive kiosk.

For example competing on a group might be interesting for the geeks. Then they started to interact with each other and they will understand what interaction means. What is interesting and what is not. What is engaging and what is boring. To make them compete also useful to make them think like a designer. being perfectionist through what they create. As a designer that wanted to teach other, we must be able to copy our design thinking and methodology to other.

After they were able to think like a designer, the next step is to educate them with the theory and principles of design for the interface itself. About color theory, contrast, materialities, fonts, visibility, etc. We need to feed them enough with theories of design they can use to develop their idea.

Social Media for Business

Nowadays, social media has broadened its content. It is no longer social or only as communication platform for two or group of people. Social media now has become one important platform of marketing in business. Researches show that 80% or people are now on social media. Therefore, social media has become functional to market products, promote brands, connect to current customers, and broaden customers and to increase brand exposure.  

For the past few years, companies have started to follow the trend of using social media platform in order to expand their business. They may have their own websites, but given the fact that majority of people surf through social media hours and hours per day, social media almost replaced the role of company’s official website. Facebook and Instagram are two of the social media platform that I think put an important role on helping companies in Australia particularly to expand their business these days. Their audiences ranges of all ages, backgrounds, occupations, and interests. Therefore, their ability to filtering community and interest gives advantages to companies to reach their target market or found by targeted audience. And while now that everything become accessible online, people tend to access products or services online particularly through social media.

Social Media in History

Looking back to history of social media, the technology has actually started long before Friendster or Facebook commenced. In 1970’s, BBS (Bulletin Board System) was the first social media ever launched to public. They focused on sharing files, games, and post messages over telephone lines via modem. It was the early age of Internet when people barely use internet, and as time goes by, development was made. It was the time for Friendster and linked in launched to public on early 2000. These two social media introduced the idea of filtering community or people who has the same bond. Therefore, while Friendster taking more into casual life and almost known as dating site, Linked in took the more formal approach for business people to stay connected. As more and more invention made for technologies, started on 2010, mobile-based platform has become popular in public. Instagram, Snapchat, Foursquare, and Tinder are some of the examples.

What is Laser Tag?

Laser tag is a team or individual sport or recreational activity where players attempt to score points by taggingtargets, typically with a hand-held infrared-emitting targeting device. Infrared-sensitive targets are commonly worn by each player and are sometimes integrated within the arena in which the game is played.

PC or Console?

I wouldnt say one is better than the other. They both good on their own ways. I use PC until now, but I dont use console anymore just because I didnt play much games lately.

For working I would prefer PC, it is faster, it is easier to use, and I am familiar with it since I was a kid. PC nowadays are available at many different kind, different capacity, memories, RAM, etc. It is easier for people to find the right PC for the as they needed, because there are actually built in PC in the market. For gamers, might need a bigger RAM so it is faster and bigger memory as well. But for normal use, the regular PC might be enough for them without having to spend more money for bigger this and that.

Although, I will prefer console for gaming. They comes in different range nowadays, and different kind of games as well. I found that console is very handy for people to just laid back and hold your stick however you want, especially wii. For a gamer person, I would recommend console than PC for them

Best Music application

I personaly love music and almost listening to music at anytime. So, my favorite mobile app is Spotify. 

Spotify is not necessarily a mobile app, we can use it too in laptop or computer. But, i find it really handy as a music application especially on your phone. Spotify is not a free app, but you can use it for free if you dont mind with advertising and always connected to internet.

I used to use itunes on my phone and laptop, but then it becomes very annoying to keep downloading new songs. While spotify allows you to find your latest music from other spotify users without downloading them. You can make your own playlist and make them private or public so that your friend can access it too. It is kind a half social media, half music player application. When connected to facebook, you can find your friend and start following them listen to their playlist, even see what they are listening to at the moment from laptop app. Listening to music according to your mood or genre would be so much easier.

Is Digital Art really Art?

Of course it is! 

Digital art is the form of art that include the use of Digital technology in the process of the making and also in their performance. They also known as the new media art which is getting popular nowadays. Not saying that traditional art such as painting and sculpting is not up to date anymore, but including technology to your artwork might possibly make it more brilliant.

Both term traditional art and digital art are equally interesting. Each has different qualities that you might not find on the others. While traditional art is more abstract, asymmetrical, and variative depends on the artist. Digital art tend to look more professional, and symmetrical on its look. For example, the making of textile pattern, such as batik by hand is more variative which is interesting. While doing it with digital media might make the pattern look symmetrical and looks like a perfect pattern.
